Overview
BNI Ini Waktunya Mudik Update is a mobile website sponsored by Bank BNI that provides up-to-date information about mudik and mudik lebaran in Indonesia. The website features various contents, including the latest news on mudik, live CCTV monitoring on mudik routes, breaking news videos, branded contents related to brands in mudik moment, and Progressive Web Apps that make it easier for users to access the website from their device’s home screen.
Why Mudik Update is Only Available on Mobile Devices
Mudik Update decided to only offer their service on mobile devices because many Indonesians rely heavily on smartphones for information and communication, especially during the mudik and arus balik period when they’re travelling. Plus, more people use their phones than computers to access the internet, and by 2025, it’s expected that 72.5% of people will only use their phones for internet access. This means it’s important for businesses to have a website that works well on phones. Mudik Update’s mobile-friendly platform allows them to reach more people and provide a better user experience. By focusing only on mobile devices, they can give their users the most important features and functions.
Discover the Mudik Update Channel Box Feature on Detikcom
Detikcom users on mobile web and apps can easily find the Mudik Update Channel Box that directs them to the Mudik Update page. The Channel Box header features logos of supporting brands. On the Mudik Update page, users can easily download the app using the Progressive Web App (PWA) feature. The Channel Box makes it easy for Detikcom users to access up-to-date information on the mudik routes and safe driving guidelines.
Introducing Progressive Web Apps on Mudik Update
Mudik Update has recently introduced a new feature called Progressive Web Apps (PWA) which allows users to access their service through a web browser with the same look and feel as a native app. This year, users can access Mudik Update easily and quickly on all devices and platforms, including Android and iOS, without needing to download and install an app from an app store.
Installing a PWA on iOS
A PWA can only be installed on iOS using the Safari web browser. First, navigate to the site in Safari. Press the “Share” button and select “Add to Home Screen” from the popup. Lastly, tap “Add” in the top right corner to finish installing the PWA. It will now be on your home screen.
Installing a PWA on Android
The default Chrome browser is capable of installing PWAs for Android. First, navigate to the site in Chrome. Press the “three dot” icon in the upper right to open the menu. Select “Add to Home screen.” Press the “Add” button in the popup. The PWA is now installed and available on your home screen.
